Key Responsibilities
- Accurately load and unload freight by hand or using appropriate equipment (pallet jacks, forklifts).
- Sort, scan, and stage incoming and outgoing shipments efficiently.
- Verify freight counts against shipping documents, noting any discrepancies or damages.
- Organize and store freight in designated warehouse locations, ensuring optimal space utilization.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Collaborate with team members, supervisors, and drivers to ensure smooth workflow and timely processing.
- Perform routine checks on equipment and report any malfunctions or maintenance needs.
- Assist with inventory counts and maintain accurate records as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a warehouse, logistics, or physical labour environment.
- Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy objects (up to 50 lbs consistently).
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Basic understanding of inventory and scanning procedures.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Physical stamina and the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Forklift operator certification (e.g., counterbalance, reach truck).
- Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS).
- Familiarity with various freight types and handling best practices.
- Valid G driver’s license.
