Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular patrols of assigned premises and property, both internal and external.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, alarm systems, and other security equipment for suspicious activity or breaches.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, disturbances, and emergency situations.
  • Enforce site rules, regulations, and access control procedures, ensuring only authorized personnel enter restricted areas.
  • Document and report all incidents, observations, and activities in detailed and accurate logbooks.
  • Provide excellent customer service and direction to visitors, employees, and clients.
  • Assist in emergency evacuation procedures and provide first aid when necessary.
  • Collaborate with local law enforcement and emergency services as required.

Required Skills

  • Excellent observational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Basic computer literacy for report writing and monitoring systems.
  • Physical stamina to perform patrols and stand for extended periods.
  • Must be eligible to obtain or already possess a valid Ontario Security Guard License.
  • Valid G class driver's license (an asset for some patrol duties).

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Previous experience in a customer service role.
  • Ability to work flexible shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
