Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Entry-Level Sign Installer Helper to join our dedicated team in Fairbank, Toronto. This is an incredible opportunity for individuals looking to start a career in a hands-on trade, learning the intricacies of sign installation from the ground up. As a Sign Installer Helper, you will work closely with our experienced installers, assisting in the safe and efficient installation of various types of indoor and outdoor signage, including channel letters, monument signs, pylon signs, and wall signs. No prior experience in sign installation is required; we are looking for individuals with a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Your day will be dynamic and varied, involving preparation of installation sites, loading and unloading materials, using hand and power tools, and ensuring all installations meet our high standards. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers in the safe and efficient installation of various types of commercial signage.
- Prepare installation sites, including ensuring proper access, site protection, and material organization.
- Load and unload signs, materials, tools, and equipment from vehicles.
- Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision (drills, saws, levels, etc.).
- Perform general labour tasks such as digging, lifting, carrying, and cleaning up work areas.
- Help with the preparation of signs before installation, including assembly, wiring, and mounting hardware.
- Maintain a clean and organized work vehicle and tool inventory.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as industry safety standards.
- Communicate effectively with team members and report any issues or concerns.
- Learn and apply new installation techniques and product knowledge as provided through training.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
- Strong work ethic and reliability, with a positive and proactive attitude.
- Willingness to learn new skills and follow instructions carefully.
- Basic understanding of safety practices in a construction or trade environment.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, or bucket trucks (with training).
- Excellent communication skills in English.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in a general labour, construction, or manufacturing role.
- Familiarity with basic hand and power tools.
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain).
