Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated Billboard Installer Helper to join our dynamic team in Cedarvale-Humewood, Toronto. This is an incredible ‘will train’ position, perfect for someone who is eager to learn the ropes of outdoor advertising installation from experienced professionals.
In this crucial role, you will work closely with our lead installers, assisting in the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and removal of various billboard advertising structures. We don’t expect you to know everything on day one; your willingness to learn, follow instructions, and commit to safety are what matter most. You’ll gain hands-on experience with tools, equipment, and techniques specific to the industry, all while contributing to highly visible projects across the city. This position requires comfort working at heights, physical stamina for lifting and maneuvering materials, and the ability to thrive in an outdoor work environment regardless of weather conditions. Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead installers with the setup, installation, and dismantling of various billboard advertising structures.
- Safely load, unload, transport, and organize materials, tools, and equipment to and from job sites.
- Prepare work sites by setting up safety cones, barricades, and warning signs.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working order.
- Adhere strictly to all company safety protocols, industry regulations, and local bylaws.
- Support the team in maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment at all times, including post-project cleanup.
- Consistently follow direct instructions from supervisors and experienced installers.
- Actively participate in ongoing training sessions to develop installation skills, product knowledge, and safety awareness.
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely under supervision after proper training.
- Assist with basic vehicle maintenance checks and ensure vehicles are properly stocked and maintained.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) regularly.
- Comfort and willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow).
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong, positive work ethic.
- Excellent ability to follow both verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Basic familiarity with hand and power tools, or a strong aptitude and eagerness to learn.
- Unwavering commitment to safety and strict adherence to all safety procedures.
- Valid G Class Driver's License and a clean driving record.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in general labour, construction, landscaping, or outdoor maintenance roles.
- Familiarity with working at heights (e.g., ladders, scaffolding, aerial lifts) – comprehensive training will be provided.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and equipment operation.
- First Aid and CPR certification is an asset.
- Experience operating a commercial vehicle (e.g., cube van, pickup with trailer).
