Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Nurse for our General & Ward Service team in Lewisham, London. As a Nurse in our General & Ward Service, you will be at the forefront of patient care, utilizing your clinical expertise to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing interventions. Your day-to-day will involve managing a varied caseload, administering medications, performing observations, and providing essential support to patients and their families. Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic, patient-centred nursing care to individuals with diverse health needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, formulate care plans, and evaluate patient outcomes.
  • Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to prescribed protocols and documentation standards.
  • Monitor vital signs, recognize changes in patient conditions, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
  • Collaborate effectively with medical, allied health, and other nursing staff to ensure coordinated care.
  • Educate patients and their families about health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care techniques.
  • Ensure a clean, safe, and organized ward environment, adhering to infection control policies.
  • Participate in ward meetings, training sessions, and continuous professional development activities.

Required Skills

  • Valid NMC (Nursing and Midwifery Council) registration
  • Proven experience in a general medical or surgical ward setting
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Proficiency in administering medications and performing clinical procedures
  • Sound understanding of patient safety and infection control principles
  • Reliability, empathy, and a compassionate approach to patient care

Preferred Qualifications

  • Post-registration experience in a specialized ward area (e.g., elderly care, acute medicine)
  • Evidence of continuing professional development (CPD) in relevant clinical areas
  • Proficiency in electronic patient record systems
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification
