Key Responsibilities

  • Perform general construction duties, including site preparation, material handling, and equipment operation.
  • Assist in the pouring and finishing of concrete, laying bricks, and installing various building materials.
  • Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently to complete tasks such as cutting, drilling, and fastening.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications as required.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on site.
  • Load and unload construction materials, ensuring their safe and correct placement.
  • Erect and dismantle scaffolding, temporary structures, and other site equipment.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting, standing, bending, and kneeling for extended periods.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 2 years of proven experience in general construction or a related trade.
  • Strong understanding and adherence to construction site safety regulations and practices.
  • Ability to operate various hand and power tools competently and safely.
  • Physical fitness and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
  • Basic knowledge of construction materials, methods, and equipment.
  • Excellent work ethic, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills in English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Valid driver’s license (Class G or equivalent) with a clean driving record.
  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification (or equivalent Canadian safety training, e.g., WHMIS, Working at Heights).
  • Experience with specific construction machinery or heavy equipment.
  • Ability to communicate in additional languages is a plus.
  • Vocational training or certification in a construction-related trade.
