Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using a point-of-sale (POS) system.
- Handle cash, credit/debit card payments, and other forms of tender, ensuring proper reconciliation.
- Provide exceptional customer service, greeting customers warmly and assisting with inquiries.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked checkout area.
- Bag purchases and assist customers with their items as needed, demonstrating attentiveness.
- Process returns, exchanges, and voids strictly according to company policy and procedures.
- Scan products, apply discounts, and total purchases accurately to prevent discrepancies.
- Reconcile cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts, identifying and resolving any discrepancies.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety, security, and loss prevention guidelines.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations and customer satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
- Basic math skills for accurate cash handling and transaction processing.
