The Recycling Plant Worker position encompasses a diverse range of responsibilities within our modern facility. These tasks include manual sorting of various materials like plastics, paper, cardboard, and metals, operating basic material handling machinery (after receiving thorough training), meticulously maintaining clean and organized workstations, and ensuring the consistent, uninterrupted flow of materials along the production line. Key Responsibilities

  • Manually sort and separate various recyclable materials (e.g., plastics, paper, cardboard, glass, metals) on conveyor belts or sorting lines.
  • Operate basic material handling equipment safely and efficiently after receiving proper training.
  • Load and unload materials from processing areas, trucks, or storage containers.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including sweeping, clearing debris, and general housekeeping duties.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, including the proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform quality control checks on sorted materials to ensure proper segregation and minimize contamination.
  • Assist with the general maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment as needed, under supervision.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient operations.

Required Skills

  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly, standing for long periods, bending, and reaching.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability, especially for night shift schedules.
  • Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
