This vital role involves patrolling designated areas within Leduc, ensuring compliance with local parking bylaws, and educating the public on safe and legal parking practices. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas on foot or by vehicle to monitor parking activity and identify violations.
- Enforce municipal parking bylaws, including time limits, restricted zones, and accessible parking regulations.
- Issue warnings and citations accurately and efficiently using handheld devices.
- Educate the public on parking regulations and assist with general inquiries in a professional manner.
- Document and maintain accurate records of parking violations, incidents, and observations.
- Operate and maintain assigned equipment, including vehicles and enforcement technology.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, colleagues, and the public regarding parking matters.
- Respond to citizen complaints and concerns about parking, resolving issues where possible.
- Testify in court if required, providing clear and concise evidence regarding violations.
- Report damaged signage, meters, or other public infrastructure related to parking.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Physical ability to perform duties including walking for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer proficiency for data entry and operating handheld devices.
- A strong commitment to public service and community safety.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a customer service or public-facing role.
- Knowledge of municipal bylaws and regulations.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
