This role is perfect for an individual who thrives in a dynamic environment, constantly exploring new sonic possibilities and pushing the boundaries of audio artistry. As a Sound Designer at Hiring.zycto, you will be instrumental in conceptualising, creating, and implementing original sound effects, ambient soundscapes, and potentially contribute to musical compositions across various multimedia projects, including but not limited to interactive experiences, digital content, and artistic installations. You will work closely with our creative and technical teams, transforming initial concepts into rich, immersive audio experiences. This is a hands-on role requiring expertise in digital audio workstations (DAWs), audio middleware, and a deep understanding of psychoacoustics and audio post-production techniques. We are looking for someone who can not only deliver high-quality audio assets but also contribute innovative ideas to elevate the overall sonic identity of our productions. If you’re eager to leave your unique sonic mark on compelling projects and collaborate with a talented group, we encourage you to apply.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, create, and implement high-quality, original sound effects, Foley, and ambient audio for various projects.
  • Contribute to the musical identity of projects through composition, arrangement, or soundscaping where applicable.
  • Record, edit, and process dialogue and voice-overs to meet project specifications.
  • Integrate audio assets into relevant platforms or game engines using middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD) or proprietary tools.
  • Mix and master audio to ensure optimal quality, clarity, and consistency across all deliverables.
  • Collaborate closely with directors, producers, engineers, and other artists to understand project vision and audio requirements.
  • Maintain and organise comprehensive audio asset libraries, ensuring efficient workflow and version control.
  • Proactively research and implement new audio technologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Conduct thorough audio testing and quality assurance to identify and resolve any technical or artistic issues.
  • Provide creative input and innovative solutions to enhance the auditory experience of projects.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Sound Designer or Audio Producer in a creative industry.
  • Expert proficiency with industry-standard Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro X, Ableton Live, or Reaper.
  • Strong understanding of audio principles, acoustics, synthesis, sampling, and signal processing.
  • Demonstrable experience with audio middleware (e.g., Wwise, FMOD Studio).
  • Excellent ear for detail, timing, and rhythm.
  • Proficiency in audio recording techniques, including microphone placement and field recording.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and adaptability to new challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Sound Design, Music Production, Audio Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience with post-production for film, animation, or interactive media (e.g., video games).
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., C#, Python) for audio implementation.
  • Knowledge of various audio compression formats and delivery specifications.
  • Portfolio demonstrating a diverse range of sound design and/or music production work.
