Are you a dedicated and experienced Truck Driver with a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) seeking a rewarding career opportunity in the Toronto area? Hiring.zycto is expanding its operations and searching for reliable and professional drivers to join our growing team. As a Truck Driver with Hiring.zycto, you will be an essential part of our logistics network, responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods across various routes.

This role involves operating heavy-duty trucks, primarily for local and regional deliveries, ensuring that all cargo is handled with care and delivered according to schedule. You’ll be expected to conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintain accurate logbooks, and adhere to all provincial and federal transportation regulations. Key Responsibilities

  • Operate commercial vehicles in a safe, efficient, and compliant manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections of vehicles and cargo, documenting any defects or issues.
  • Safely load, unload, and secure various types of cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and adherence to safety guidelines.
  • Maintain accurate electronic logbooks (ELDs) and paper logbooks as required, ensuring compliance with HOS regulations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery schedules, delays, and potential issues.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical problems promptly.
  • Adhere to all provincial and federal transportation regulations, including those related to hazardous materials if applicable.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods, completing all necessary paperwork (bill of ladings, delivery receipts, etc.).
  • Represent the company professionally to clients and the public at all times.

Required Skills

  • Valid Class AZ or DZ Commercial Driver's License (CDL) in Ontario
  • Clean driving record (abstract) with no major infractions
  • Minimum 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience
  • Ability to operate heavy-duty trucks safely and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of Hours of Service (HOS) regulations and electronic logging devices (ELDs)
  • Excellent knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in transportation
  • Ability to perform pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip inspections
  • Physical ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs, and handle various types of cargo
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with refrigerated or specialized cargo
  • Forklift certification or experience operating other material handling equipment
  • Geographic knowledge of the Greater Toronto Area and surrounding regions
  • Mechanical aptitude for minor roadside repairs
