Key Responsibilities
- Assist skilled tradespersons (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) with various tasks as directed.
- Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting, carrying, loading, and unloading construction materials.
- Prepare construction sites by cleaning debris, removing hazards, and ensuring a safe and organized working environment.
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively under supervision (e.g., shovels, rakes, wheelbarrows, drills, saws).
- Dig trenches, backfill excavations, and level ground as required for foundations and utilities.
- Maintain tools and equipment, ensuring they are clean, organized, and in good working order.
- Follow all safety protocols, company policies, and instructions from supervisors diligently.
Required Skills
- Physical stamina and ability to perform demanding manual labor, including lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Reliability and punctuality; strong work ethic and a commitment to showing up on time, ready to work.
- Eagerness to learn new skills and follow instructions from experienced team members.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety principles (or willingness to learn immediately).
