Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct personal care, assistance with mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene in a respectful and dignified manner.
  • Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and record-keeping, adhering strictly to company policies and CQC guidelines.
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Supervise, mentor, and support junior care assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Monitor and record clients' health status, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the nursing staff or management.
  • Assist with household tasks, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment for clients.
  • Facilitate and participate in social activities, outings, and engagement opportunities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, their families, external agencies, and the care team.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and professional standards of practice.

Required Skills

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent recognized qualification)
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a care setting, preferably with senior care responsibilities.
  • Proven ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor junior staff.
  • Strong understanding of person-centred care principles and safeguarding adults.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with electronic care planning systems.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Specialized training in dementia care, palliative care, or mental health.
  • Clean UK driving license (though not essential for all roles, can be beneficial).
