Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct personal care, assistance with mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene in a respectful and dignified manner.
- Administer medication as prescribed, ensuring accurate dosage and record-keeping, adhering strictly to company policies and CQC guidelines.
- Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Supervise, mentor, and support junior care assistants, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Monitor and record clients' health status, reporting any significant changes or concerns to the nursing staff or management.
- Assist with household tasks, meal preparation, and maintaining a clean and safe living environment for clients.
- Facilitate and participate in social activities, outings, and engagement opportunities to promote mental and emotional well-being.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date records and documentation in line with regulatory requirements and internal procedures.
- Communicate effectively with clients, their families, external agencies, and the care team.
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations, safeguarding policies, and professional standards of practice.
Required Skills
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent recognized qualification)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a care setting, preferably with senior care responsibilities.
- Proven ability to administer medication safely and accurately.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with fluency in English.
- Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to mentor junior staff.
- Strong understanding of person-centred care principles and safeguarding adults.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach to care.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with electronic care planning systems.
- First Aid certification.
- Specialized training in dementia care, palliative care, or mental health.
