Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking dedicated and physically capable individuals to join our team as a Freight Handler for our essential Weekend Shift in Mount Pleasant West, Toronto. This full-time position is crucial to maintaining the seamless flow of goods through our distribution network. As a Freight Handler, you will play a vital role in our logistics operations, responsible for the efficient and safe loading, unloading, sorting, and moving of freight and cargo within our facility.

Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently load and unload freight, parcels, and general cargo from trailers, trucks, and containers.
- Sort and stage materials for proper storage or outbound shipment, ensuring accuracy and organization.
- Operate manual and powered material handling equipment safely and effectively (e.g., pallet jacks, hand trucks).
- Inspect freight for damage and verify counts against shipping documents, reporting discrepancies as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all company safety policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to optimize workflow and resolve operational issues.
- Perform general warehouse duties as assigned, including inventory assistance and facility upkeep.
- Ensure all documentation, such as manifests and bills of lading, are accurately completed and processed.
- Adhere to strict timelines to meet loading and unloading schedules, especially during peak periods.
Required Skills
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly and safely.
- Strong physical stamina and endurance for prolonged standing, bending, and lifting.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in handling and counting freight.
- Demonstrated ability to follow instructions and safety protocols meticulously.
- Reliability and punctuality, especially for weekend shifts.
- Basic comprehension of English for safety instructions and documentation.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Strong work ethic and a positive, can-do attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (6 months+) in a warehouse, logistics, or freight handling role.
- Experience operating manual pallet jacks or other material handling equipment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) or scanning devices.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
