Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, with dignity and respect.
- Assist with medication reminders, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules.
- Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, catering to individual dietary needs.
- Perform light household duties, such as tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
- Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
- Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, as required.
- Monitor and report any changes in client's health, behaviour, or well-being to the care coordinator.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
- Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a care-giving role, ideally with elderly individuals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
- Full UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle.
- First Aid certification.
- Experience with specific conditions such as dementia or Parkinson's.
- Proficiency in administering medication.
