Key Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming, with dignity and respect.
  • Assist with medication reminders, ensuring adherence to prescribed schedules.
  • Support clients with meal preparation and feeding, catering to individual dietary needs.
  • Perform light household duties, such as tidying, laundry, and maintaining a clean living environment.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support, engaging clients in conversation and activities.
  • Assist with mobility and transfers, using appropriate techniques and equipment.
  • Accompany clients to appointments or social outings, as required.
  • Monitor and report any changes in client's health, behaviour, or well-being to the care coordinator.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of care provided.
  • Adhere to all health and safety guidelines and company policies.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in a care-giving role, ideally with elderly individuals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A compassionate, patient, and empathetic approach.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Reliability, punctuality, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety principles.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
  • Right to work in the UK.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent).
  • Full UK Driving License and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • First Aid certification.
  • Experience with specific conditions such as dementia or Parkinson's.
  • Proficiency in administering medication.
