Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver a wide variety of items to customers across designated routes in London.
- Adhere strictly to road safety regulations, company policies, and traffic laws at all times.
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure they are in optimal working condition and report any issues promptly.
- Load, unload, prepare, inspect, and operate delivery vehicles with care and attention to detail.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records using handheld devices or company applications.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, handling inquiries and resolving minor issues professionally.
- Manage time effectively to meet delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Handle cash and electronic payments accurately, if required.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, supervisors, and customers to ensure smooth operations.
- Represent Hiring.zycto professionally and courteously at all times.
Required Skills
- Valid UK driving license (or equivalent international license eligible for conversion/use in the UK)
- Clean driving record with no major endorsements or accidents in the last 3 years.
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or similar role (minimum 1 year).
- Excellent knowledge of London's road network, traffic patterns, and public transport options.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Ability to lift and carry packages of various sizes and weights (up to 25kg).
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
- Basic proficiency with navigation apps and mobile devices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial vehicles (e.g., vans or larger delivery vehicles).
- Previous experience with route optimization software or delivery management systems.
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic troubleshooting.
- Advanced driving qualification or defensive driving course completion.
