This full-time position is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene across our client’s facility. As a Facility Maintenance Cleaner, you will be responsible for a wide range of cleaning and maintenance tasks, ensuring a safe, presentable, and healthy environment for all occupants. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and trash removal across various facility areas.
- Clean and sanitize washrooms, breakrooms, offices, and other common areas, ensuring high hygiene standards.
- Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitizer as needed.
- Spot clean walls, windows, doors, and other surfaces to remove smudges, fingerprints, and spills.
- Operate and maintain various cleaning equipment safely and efficiently, including vacuums, floor machines, and other tools.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety regulations, company policies, and specific client protocols.
- Report any maintenance issues, damages, broken equipment, or safety hazards immediately to supervision.
- Properly handle, dilute, store, and dispose of cleaning chemicals in accordance with safety guidelines and WHMIS protocols.
- Support special cleaning projects or deep cleans as needed, including stripping and waxing floors or carpet cleaning.
- Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and communicate needs to management to ensure continuous availability.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in facility cleaning or janitorial services (minimum 6 months).
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and manage time effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and thoroughness in completing all assigned tasks.
- Reliable, punctual, and possess a strong work ethic.
- Knowledge of various cleaning techniques and the proper use of cleaning chemicals.
- Physical ability to perform demanding cleaning tasks, including lifting up to 25 lbs, bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- Prior experience with commercial cleaning equipment (e.g., floor buffers, carpet extractors).
- Familiarity with WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) regulations.
- Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
