Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the mortgage application process, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
- Gather, review, and verify all necessary client documentation (e.g., proof of income, identification, bank statements) to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Prepare, submit, and track mortgage applications with various lenders, diligently following up on progress and resolving any issues.
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to Senior Mortgage Advisors, including diary management, report generation, and correspondence.
- Liaise effectively with lenders, solicitors, valuers, and other third parties to ensure a smooth and timely completion of mortgage cases.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records within our CRM system, adhering to all data protection and privacy regulations.
- Clearly explain mortgage products, terms, and conditions to clients, ensuring they understand their options and obligations.
- Proactively identify and address potential issues or delays in the application process, communicating solutions to clients promptly.
- Ensure full adherence to regulatory requirements, company policies, and best practice guidelines at all times.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the team to enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a mortgage advisory or mortgage administration role.
- Full CeMAP (Certificate in Mortgage Advice and Practice) qualification or equivalent.
- Exceptional organisational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy in documentation.
- Proven ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously and work effectively under pressure.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- A client-centric approach, demonstrating empathy and a commitment to providing excellent service.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a range of mortgage products, including residential, buy-to-let, and remortgages.
- Knowledge of Scottish mortgage market specifics and legal processes.
