Job Description
Hiring.zycto is searching for a meticulous and proactive Stock Controller to join our fast-paced distribution centre in Kirkintilloch, Glasgow. As a Stock Controller, you will be instrumental in managing all aspects of our product inventory, from inbound goods recording to ensuring precise dispatch processes. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory records using our warehouse management system (WMS).
- Oversee the receipt of incoming goods, verifying quantities against purchase orders, and recording product details.
- Conduct regular stock counts and cycle counts, investigating and reconciling any discrepancies found.
- Monitor stock levels to prevent overstocking or stock-outs, initiating replenishment orders as required.
- Coordinate with the dispatch team to ensure timely and accurate picking, packing, and loading of outgoing shipments.
- Implement and enforce inventory control procedures and best practices.
- Identify and report slow-moving, obsolete, or damaged stock and propose solutions.
- Generate comprehensive inventory reports for management analysis.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as forklifts or pallet jacks, if certified.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment within the stockroom and warehouse.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Stock Control, Inventory Management, or similar role.
- Proficiency in using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrable understanding of inventory control principles and best practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift truck license (Counterbalance and/or Reach).
- Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
- Previous experience in a logistics or retail distribution environment.
