Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components for new and existing products, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Conduct thorough feasibility studies, risk assessments, and detailed engineering calculations for complex electrical designs.
- Prepare comprehensive technical specifications, schematics, wiring diagrams, and Bill of Materials (BOMs).
- Perform root cause analysis for electrical failures and implement robust corrective and preventive actions.
- Collaborate seamlessly with mechanical, software, and project management teams to ensure successful system integration.
- Ensure all designs and implementations strictly comply with relevant industry standards, electrical codes, and safety regulations.
- Actively participate in prototype builds, system integration, and rigorous verification and validation testing.
- Provide technical support for manufacturing processes and field deployment of electrical systems.
- Maintain comprehensive and accurate documentation throughout the entire project lifecycle.
- Mentor junior engineers, share knowledge, and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and innovation within the team.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in electrical system design, development, and testing.
- Proficiency with electrical CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical, Altium Designer).
- Strong understanding of power electronics, control systems, embedded systems, and sensor technologies.
- Demonstrated experience with circuit design, PCB layout, and simulation tools.
- In-depth knowledge of safety standards (e.g., UL, CSA, CE) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills with a detail-oriented approach.
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills for effective multidisciplinary collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree or Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or eligibility in Canada.
- Experience with high-voltage systems, grid integration, or renewable energy technologies.
- Familiarity with functional safety standards (e.g., ISO 13849, IEC 61508).
- Prior experience working in an international or culturally diverse team environment.
- Project management experience or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP).
