Key Responsibilities
- Provide daily support and assistance to residents, fostering a safe, respectful, and supportive living environment.
- Assist residents in developing and maintaining essential life skills, including budgeting, hygiene, meal preparation, and household management.
- Monitor resident well-being and identify potential issues, escalating concerns to senior staff or appropriate resources as needed.
- Facilitate access to community resources such as mental health services, addiction support, employment programs, and educational opportunities.
- Document interactions, incidents, and resident progress accurately and confidentially, adhering to privacy guidelines.
- Participate actively in team meetings, case conferences, and contribute collaboratively to resident care planning.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures as needed, ensuring resident and staff safety.
- Mediate minor conflicts and promote positive communication and community building among residents.
- Assist with resident move-ins and move-outs, ensuring smooth and supportive transitions.
- Maintain accurate and organized client files and records, upholding data integrity.
Required Skills
- Strong empathy, patience, and active listening skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Office Suite, email, record-keeping software).

Preferred Qualifications
- CPR and Standard First Aid certification.
- Previous volunteer experience in social services, healthcare, or community support.
- Knowledge of local community resources and support networks in Toronto.
- Experience working with diverse populations, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, or substance use.
- Crisis Prevention and Intervention (CPI) training or similar de-escalation training.
