Key Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical equipment and associated electrical and electronic controls.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations.
  • Diagnose and repair faults in electrical systems, apparatus, and components using testing equipment and hand tools.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and calibrate electrical components and instruments.
  • Connect electrical power to production equipment, machinery, and various systems.
  • Work with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), including programming, troubleshooting, and maintenance.
  • Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and company safety policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.
  • Collaborate with other tradespeople and engineers to complete projects efficiently and effectively.

Required Skills

  • Journeyman Industrial Electrician certification (or equivalent internationally recognized qualification).
  • Minimum 3 years (36 months) of proven experience as an Industrial Electrician, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining industrial electrical systems (up to 600V).
  • Strong understanding and application of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC).
  • Experience with PLCs (e.g., Siemens, Rockwell, Allen-Bradley) and HMI systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams.
  • Excellent diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and experience with Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and motor control systems.
  • Knowledge of instrumentation and control systems.
  • Prior experience working with diverse international teams.
  • Proficiency in using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
  • Additional certifications in related fields (e.g., arc flash, confined space entry).
