Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently load and unload packages into and out of delivery vehicles.
- Operate company delivery vehicles in a safe and responsible manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Navigate predetermined routes using GPS and provided manifest, ensuring timely deliveries to customers.
- Verify package contents against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Obtain necessary signatures or scan packages as required for proof of delivery.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, addressing inquiries professionally and courteously.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, reporting any issues promptly.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and procedures, minimizing risks to yourself and others.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and team members regarding route status and any challenges encountered.
Required Skills
- Valid G class driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry packages weighing up to 50 lbs regularly and occasionally heavier with assistance.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a delivery or customer service role is an asset.
- Familiarity with Kitchener-Waterloo area routes and traffic patterns.
- Basic proficiency with smartphone applications for navigation and delivery tracking.
