As a Pharmacist with Hiring.zycto, you will be responsible for a comprehensive range of pharmaceutical services, extending far beyond traditional dispensing. This includes meticulously reviewing prescriptions for accuracy, potential drug interactions, and appropriate dosages, as well as engaging in compounding as needed to meet specific patient requirements.

A cornerstone of this role involves direct patient consultation and education. You will be expected to provide expert advice on prescription and over-the-counter medications, health and wellness products, and lifestyle modifications. Your ability to communicate complex medical information clearly and empathetically will be crucial in building trust and fostering positive patient outcomes. You will also be instrumental in administering injections and immunizations, further expanding your impact on preventative health.

Beyond direct patient care, you will contribute significantly to the operational excellence of our pharmacy. This involves maintaining accurate patient profiles, managing inventory to ensure optimal stock levels and minimize waste, and strictly adhering to all provincial and federal regulations, professional practice standards, and company policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately dispense prescription medications and provide comprehensive patient counselling on proper usage, potential side effects, and drug interactions.
  • Conduct thorough medication reviews and identify potential drug-related problems, collaborating with prescribers to optimize therapy.
  • Administer injections and immunizations in accordance with established protocols and maintain accurate immunization records.
  • Maintain precise patient profiles, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and up-to-date.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, including ordering, receiving, stocking, and rotating medications to ensure availability and minimize expiry.
  • Adhere strictly to all federal and provincial pharmacy laws, regulations, and professional standards of practice.
  • Provide expert advice on over-the-counter medications, health products, and general wellness queries.
  • Participate in the training and supervision of pharmacy assistants and students, fostering a learning environment.
  • Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient-centred care plans.
  • Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with advancements in pharmacy practice and healthcare.

Required Skills

  • Valid Pharmacist license in British Columbia (BC College of Pharmacists)
  • Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy (B.Sc.Pharm)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a patient-first approach
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing and record-keeping
  • Proficiency in pharmacy management software and basic computer applications
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Certification in injection administration and CPR/First Aid

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a community pharmacy setting in Canada (2+ years)
  • Experience with advanced pharmacy services, such as medication management programs
  • Additional certifications in specialized areas (e.g., travel health, diabetes education)
  • Bilingualism (English and other commonly spoken languages in Vancouver)
