Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy assessments, including functional, cognitive, and environmental evaluations, to identify client needs and goals.
- Develop, implement, and review individualized, person-centred treatment plans based on evidence-based practice and client aspirations.
- Provide a range of therapeutic interventions, including activity analysis, rehabilitation exercises, cognitive strategies, and adaptive techniques.
- Recommend and facilitate the provision of adaptive equipment, assistive technology, and environmental modifications to enhance client independence.
- Deliver expert advice and education to clients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, and strategies for managing daily living activities.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including physiotherapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals, to ensure holistic care.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential client records in accordance with professional standards and organisational policies.
- Participate in clinical supervision, peer review, and continuous professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives within the occupational therapy department.
Required Skills
- BSc or MSc in Occupational Therapy from a recognised institution.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Minimum of 2 years post-qualification clinical experience as an Occupational Therapist.
- Demonstrable experience in conducting comprehensive assessments and developing treatment plans.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in clinical documentation and report writing.
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and evidence-based practice.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with a diverse caseload across different age groups or specialities (e.g., neurological rehabilitation, complex physical disability).
- Post-graduate training or certifications in a relevant specialist area.
- Experience in supervising junior staff or students.
- Full UK driving license and access to a vehicle for community visits (where applicable).
- Familiarity with various assessment tools and outcome measures.
