Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Pipefitter to join our dedicated team. Based in the vibrant Burnaby area, this full-time position offers a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to work on diverse industrial projects, from new installations to complex maintenance and repair operations. As an Industrial Pipefitter, you will be instrumental in ensuring the precise fabrication, assembly, installation, and maintenance of piping systems used in various industrial settings, including manufacturing plants, refineries, and commercial facilities. Your expertise will be critical in handling a wide range of materials such as carbon steel, stainless steel, and specialized alloys, working with various pipe diameters and pressures. This role demands a strong understanding of industrial processes, exceptional blueprint interpretation skills, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multidisciplinary team. We are looking for an individual who is not only proficient in their craft but also possesses a proactive approach to safety, quality, and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine layout of piping systems.
  • Cut, thread, bend, and weld various types of pipes and structural steel, adhering to precise measurements.
  • Install, assemble, and maintain industrial piping systems, including valves, hangers, and supports.
  • Test piping systems for leaks using hydrostatic or pneumatic testing equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and replace worn or defective piping components and related equipment.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all safety regulations, industry codes, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate effectively with other trades, engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on existing piping infrastructure to maximize operational longevity and efficiency.
  • Operate various tools and machinery safely, including hoists, lifts, and welding equipment.

Required Skills

  • Red Seal Journeyperson Pipefitter certification.
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques (SMAW, GTAW, FCAW) for different materials.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems, as well as steam and gas lines.
  • Ability to accurately read and interpret complex schematics, technical drawings, and P&IDs.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in industrial environments.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety protocols and procedures.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity required for demanding manual tasks, including lifting and working in confined spaces.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments.
  • CSTS-09 or CSTS 2020 certification.
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Confined space entry certification.
  • Aerial work platform (AWP) certification.
