Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of shipping documentation, including bills of lading, customs forms, and packing lists.
- Coordinate with carriers and freight forwarders to schedule pickups and deliveries, ensuring optimal timing.
- Track and monitor outgoing and incoming shipments, providing status updates to relevant stakeholders.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing shipments against orders, ensuring correct item counts and product integrity.
- Maintain organized records of all shipping activities, electronically and physically, as required.
- Support inventory management by assisting with cycle counts and reconciling discrepancies.
- Communicate effectively with internal departments (sales, customer service) regarding shipment status and potential issues.
- Assist with packaging and labeling products for shipment, adhering to safety and quality standards.
- Respond to and resolve shipping-related inquiries or discrepancies in a timely and professional manner.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the shipping department to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in an administrative or operational support role, preferably within logistics or warehousing.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and documentation.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic understanding of shipping procedures and freight terminology.
- Physical ability to lift and move packages up to 25 lbs occasionally.
