Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and safety-conscious Certified Crane Operator to join our dynamic team in Tsawwassen, Delta. As a Crane Operator, you will be entrusted with the safe and efficient operation of various types of cranes, including mobile, hydraulic, and lattice boom cranes, to lift, move, and position heavy materials and equipment. Your expertise will be essential in supporting our construction, port logistics, and heavy industrial operations. Key Responsibilities

  • Safely operate various types of cranes (e.g., mobile, hydraulic, lattice boom) to lift, move, and place materials and equipment.
  • Conduct thorough pre-operational inspections and complete daily inspection reports.
  • Interpret and adhere to load charts, site plans, and rigging instructions.
  • Communicate effectively and continuously with ground crews and signal persons using hand signals, radio, or other communication devices.
  • Ensure the stability and balance of loads, and prevent overloads.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks and minor repairs on equipment.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies, provincial regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks and records of crane operations.
  • Assist in the setup and dismantle of cranes as required.
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards promptly.

Required Skills

  • Valid Crane Operator certification (e.g., BC CraneSafe, NCCCO, or equivalent provincial/national certification).
  • Minimum 4 years of proven experience operating various types of cranes in an industrial or construction setting.
  • Strong understanding of crane mechanics, load charts, and rigging techniques.
  • Excellent spatial awareness and depth perception.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and hoisting plans.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and adherence to all regulations.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently.
  • Physical fitness to perform duties, including climbing, lifting, and working in various weather conditions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Red Seal certification in a related trade (e.g., Heavy Equipment Operator, Mechanic).
  • Experience with specialized lifting operations or in port environments.
  • First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid Class 1 or Class 3 Driver's License with air brake endorsement.
