Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare surfaces by cleaning, repairing, and applying lath or mesh to ensure optimal adhesion for stucco materials.
  • Mix stucco materials to the correct consistency, considering weather conditions and project specifications.
  • Apply multiple coats of stucco, including scratch, brown, and finish coats, ensuring evenness, proper thickness, and desired texture.
  • Execute various stucco finishes, such as smooth, dashed, trolled, or exposed aggregate, to meet architectural and client requirements.
  • Perform intricate detailing around windows, doors, and other architectural features to achieve a high-quality, weather-tight seal.
  • Inspect finished surfaces for defects, making necessary repairs or adjustments to maintain superior quality standards.
  • Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures, as well as construction site safety regulations.
  • Operate and maintain a variety of tools and equipment, including trowels, hawk boards, spray guns, and mixers.
  • Collaborate effectively with project managers, site supervisors, and other trades to ensure seamless project execution.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders to determine project specifications and material requirements.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of verifiable experience as a Stucco Plasterer on diverse projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in all phases of stucco application, from prep to finish.
  • Proficiency in mixing and applying various types of stucco materials (e.g., traditional, synthetic, EIFS).
  • Strong understanding of building codes and industry best practices for stucco installation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced construction environment.
  • Excellent physical stamina and dexterity, capable of lifting heavy materials and working at heights.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation to job sites.
  • Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to all PPE requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program in plastering or stucco application.
  • Relevant trade certification or journeyman status.
  • Experience with specialty finishes or decorative plastering techniques.
  • Ability to mentor and guide junior team members.
