Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and results-oriented Certified Network Engineer to join our growing team in Norquay Village, Vancouver. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, maintaining, and troubleshooting our complex network infrastructure. This encompasses a broad spectrum of network technologies, including routing, switching, firewalls, VPNs, wireless, and network security solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring optimal network performance, reliability, and security across all our operations, supporting our internal teams and external clients. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure network infrastructures (LAN/WAN, VPNs, Wireless).
- Configure and troubleshoot network devices including routers, switches, firewalls (Cisco, Juniper, FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks).
- Monitor network performance and availability, identifying and resolving issues promptly using network monitoring tools.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedural guides.
- Implement and enforce network security policies and best practices to protect organizational data and assets.
- Collaborate with IT support and other engineering teams to integrate new systems and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
- Participate in on-call rotation for critical network incidents and provide timely resolution.
- Evaluate new network technologies and make recommendations for improvements and upgrades.
- Perform regular network audits and capacity planning to ensure future scalability and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to network operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Network Engineer or similar role.
- Valid industry certification such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIS, or equivalent.
- In-depth knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, etc.).
- Strong hands-on experience with Cisco IOS/NX-OS, Juniper Junos, or similar network operating systems.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing firewalls (e.g., FortiGate, Palo Alto Networks, Cisco ASA).
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Familiarity with network security principles and best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Advanced network certifications (e.g., CCIE, JNCIE).
- Experience with cloud networking (AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud Networking).
- Scripting skills (Python, PowerShell) for network automation.
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies.
- Experience with VoIP and unified communications systems.
- Prior experience in a consulting or service provider environment.
