Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Human Resources Officer to join our dynamic team in the bustling Temple Meads area of Bristol. This pivotal role encompasses a broad spectrum of HR functions, focusing primarily on recruitment, payroll administration, and fostering positive staff relations. As an HR Officer, you will be instrumental in attracting, developing, and retaining top talent, ensuring a seamless employee experience from onboarding to offboarding. You will manage the end-to-end recruitment process, from crafting compelling job descriptions and sourcing candidates to conducting interviews and managing offer letters, all while upholding our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Beyond recruitment, you will take ownership of the monthly payroll cycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely processing for all employees. This includes managing statutory deductions, pensions, and responding to employee queries regarding pay. This includes advising on HR policies, procedures, and best practices, handling employee grievances, conducting disciplinary meetings, and promoting a culture of open communication and mutual respect. Key Responsibilities
- Manage the full recruitment lifecycle, including job posting, candidate sourcing, screening, interviewing, reference checks, and offer management.
- Administer monthly payroll processing accurately and on time, including data input, calculations, statutory deductions (PAYE, NI), pensions, and expense claims.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant employment legislation and internal HR policies and procedures, particularly concerning payroll and recruitment.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee queries related to HR policies, payroll, and benefits.
- Provide guidance and support to managers and employees on HR matters, including performance management, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date HR records and employee files, ensuring data confidentiality and GDPR compliance.
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR initiatives and projects designed to enhance employee engagement and retention.
- Conduct new employee onboarding and induction sessions to ensure a smooth transition into the company.
- Prepare HR reports and analytics as required to support strategic decision-making.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a Human Resources Officer or similar role with a focus on recruitment and payroll.
- Strong understanding of UK employment law and HR best practices.
- Demonstrable experience with end-to-end payroll processing and HRIS systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPD Level 3 or 5 qualification (or working towards).
- Experience with specific HRIS/payroll software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks Payroll, BreatheHR).
- Knowledge of benefits administration and pension schemes.
- Experience in a fast-paced or growing organization.
