Your day-to-day will involve engaging with a diverse clientele, performing detailed financial needs assessments, and proactively recommending tailored solutions. You will be responsible for opening new accounts, processing loan applications, and educating clients on digital banking tools, ensuring a seamless and positive banking experience. Beyond transactional duties, you will be instrumental in fostering financial literacy, helping clients make informed decisions, and proactively identifying opportunities to deepen client relationships through cross-selling and referrals. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive financial needs assessments for clients to understand their goals and circumstances.
- Proactively offer and explain a range of financial products and services, including deposit accounts, credit cards, loans, mortgages, and investment options.
- Open new client accounts, process loan applications, and manage client inquiries and service requests efficiently.
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, acting as their primary point of contact for banking needs.
- Educate clients on digital banking solutions and self-service options to enhance their banking experience.
- Identify opportunities for cross-selling and referring clients to specialist advisors (e.g., wealth management, mortgage specialists) when appropriate.
- Ensure compliance with all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Actively participate in branch initiatives, sales campaigns, and community engagement activities.
- Resolve client complaints and issues promptly and professionally, escalating complex cases as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of market trends, product offerings, and competitor activities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a personal banking, financial services, or customer service role with sales targets.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Strong understanding of personal banking products and services (deposits, loans, investments).
- Demonstrated sales acumen and ability to achieve targets.
- Proficiency in using banking software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Business, Finance, or a related field.
- Mutual Funds License (IFIC or CSC) or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe.
- Experience with CRM systems.
- Knowledge of local Burnaby community and market dynamics.
- Ability to communicate in multiple languages, particularly those common in the local area.
