Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes.
- Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/ASPE.
- Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
- Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insightful commentary.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
- Participate in external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
- Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
- Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
- Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Research and interpret complex accounting issues, providing recommendations to management.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong knowledge of IFRS or ASPE
- Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
- Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365)
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation (or actively pursuing)
- Experience in a rapidly growing or multi-entity organization
- Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST, provincial taxes)
- Experience with financial reporting tools and business intelligence software
