Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our dynamic team in Horseshoe Bay, West Vancouver. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all aspects of the general ledger, including preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and closing processes.
  • Prepare accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS/ASPE.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including variance analysis against budget and prior periods.
  • Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable functions, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, providing insightful commentary.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal controls.
  • Participate in external audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
  • Develop and implement robust financial policies and procedures to enhance efficiency and control.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support cross-functional projects and initiatives.
  • Mentor junior accounting staff and contribute to their professional development.
  • Research and interpret complex accounting issues, providing recommendations to management.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS or ASPE
  • Proficiency in advanced Excel functions (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, financial modeling)
  • Experience with major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Dynamics 365)
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and concisely
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications

  • CPA designation (or actively pursuing)
  • Experience in a rapidly growing or multi-entity organization
  • Familiarity with Canadian tax regulations (GST/HST, provincial taxes)
  • Experience with financial reporting tools and business intelligence software
