Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Educator (ECE) to join our esteemed team in the picturesque British Properties of West Vancouver. Key Responsibilities
- Plan, implement, and evaluate daily programs and activities for children aged 0-5 years, adhering to provincial regulations and best practices.
- Create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that encourages exploration, creativity, and play-based learning.
- Observe and assess children's development, documenting progress and communicating effectively with parents/guardians.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and engaging classroom space, ensuring all materials are accessible and age-appropriate.
- Collaborate with co-workers and administrative staff to ensure the smooth operation of the program and adherence to all policies.
- Administer first aid or seek medical attention as required, maintaining accurate records of incidents.
- Attend staff meetings, workshops, and professional development sessions to continuously enhance skills and knowledge.
- Foster positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues through respectful and clear communication.
Required Skills
- Early Childhood Educator (ECE) Certificate or License to Practice in British Columbia.
- Minimum of 1 year of post-certification experience in a childcare setting.
- Current First Aid and CPR Certification (Child & Infant).
- Clear Criminal Record Check.
- Strong understanding of child development theories and play-based learning approaches.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Early Childhood Education.
- Experience with emergent curriculum and Reggio Emilia or Montessori philosophies.
- Knowledge of BC Early Learning Framework.
- Experience with special needs children or inclusive education practices.
- Proficiency in an additional language.
