Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as a Before and After School Care Provider. This pivotal part-time role offers an incredible opportunity to shape the daily experiences of children, creating a supportive, stimulating, and safe environment during crucial transition times outside of school hours. We are looking for someone who is not only passionate about working with children aged 5-12 but also possesses a strong understanding of child development and an ability to foster positive relationships with both children and their families. Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement age-appropriate recreational and educational activities that promote physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
  • Supervise children during all program activities, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times, both indoors and outdoors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and stimulating program environment conducive to learning and play.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with parents/guardians regarding their child's daily activities, progress, and any concerns.
  • Assist children with homework, provide guidance, and encourage a positive attitude towards learning.
  • Administer basic first aid as needed and maintain accurate records of incidents or medication administration.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive team environment.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience working with children aged 5-12 in a group setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with children, parents, and staff.
  • Ability to plan and lead engaging activities.
  • Strong understanding of child development principles and best practices in childcare.
  • Valid Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
  • Criminal Record Check (vulnerable sector) clearance upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Early Childhood Education (ECE) Assistant certificate or equivalent.
  • Courses or certifications in recreation, child and youth care, or related fields.
  • Experience in a similar before and after school care program.
  • Knowledge of local community resources and activities suitable for children.
