Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging physics lessons for high school students, adhering to provincial curriculum standards.
- Design and conduct laboratory experiments and demonstrations that enhance theoretical understanding and practical skills.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, including assignments, quizzes, tests, and projects, providing constructive feedback.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance, grades, and progress.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and challenging learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, interdisciplinary projects, and school-wide initiatives.
- Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student performance and development.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and stay updated on advancements in physics education and pedagogy.
- Supervise students during school activities, field trips, and extracurricular clubs related to science.
- Utilize educational technology and innovative teaching strategies to enhance the learning experience.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Physics, Physical Sciences, or a related field.
- Valid teaching certification for the province of Quebec (or eligibility to obtain one).
- Demonstrated expertise in high school physics curriculum (Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Electromagnetism, Optics, Modern Physics).
- Proven ability to create engaging lesson plans and hands-on laboratory activities.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
- Proficiency in integrating technology into teaching and learning.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken).
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physics Education or a related discipline.
- Fluency in French (written and spoken) is a significant asset.
