Key Responsibilities
- Design, execute, and interpret non-clinical toxicology studies in compliance with GLP and relevant regulatory guidelines.
- Perform comprehensive toxicological risk assessments for various substances, consumer products, and environmental contaminants.
- Prepare high-quality scientific reports, regulatory submissions, and presentations summarizing toxicology findings and recommendations.
- Provide expert toxicological guidance to R&D teams, regulatory affairs, and external clients on product safety and development strategies.
- Stay current with evolving toxicological principles, regulatory landscapes (e.g., Health Canada, FDA, EMA), and emerging technologies.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including chemists, pharmacologists, and clinical scientists, to integrate toxicology data.
- Participate in protocol development, study monitoring, and data quality review processes.
Required Skills
- Ph.D. in Toxicology, Pharmacology, Biochemistry, or a related scientific field.
- Minimum of 4 years of professional experience in toxicology (post-doctoral or industry).
- Demonstrated expertise in designing, conducting, and interpreting in vivo and in vitro toxicology studies.
- Thorough understanding of regulatory toxicology principles and guidelines (e.g., GLP, ICH, OECD).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for technical reports and presentations.
- Proficiency in statistical analysis software for toxicology data.
Preferred Qualifications
- DABT (Diplomate of the American Board of Toxicology) certification.
- Experience with specific toxicological models (e.g., developmental, reproductive, neurotoxicology).
- Familiarity with computational toxicology tools and QSAR analysis.
- Proven experience in a Contract Research Organization (CRO) or pharmaceutical industry setting.
- Bilingual (English and French) is a strong asset for effective communication in Montreal.
