Key Responsibilities
- Design, plan, and execute complex scientific experiments and research projects in a laboratory setting.
- Develop and optimize new materials, processes, and products from concept to validated prototype.
- Analyze experimental data using advanced statistical and analytical tools, interpret results, and draw sound scientific conclusions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experimental procedures, observations, and results.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, presentations, and scientific publications for internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance, to ensure successful project progression.
- Stay abreast of the latest scientific advancements, industry trends, and competitive landscape to identify new opportunities for innovation.
- Contribute to the development of intellectual property through patent applications and trade secrets.
- Operate and maintain specialized laboratory equipment and instruments.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and quality standards in the laboratory.
Required Skills
- PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Biotechnology, or a related scientific discipline.
- Demonstrated expertise in experimental design (DOE) and data analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to research.
- Proficiency in scientific literature review and information synthesis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience with advanced laboratory instrumentation and analytical techniques.
- Proven track record of innovation and scientific contribution (e.g., publications, patents).
Preferred Qualifications
- 1-3 years of post-doctoral or industry experience in R&D.
- Experience in process development and/or scale-up activities.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO standards).
- Proficiency in French is an asset.
