Job Description
Hiring.zycto is actively seeking a highly motivated and DVSA-approved Driving Instructor to join our expanding team in Pilton, Edinburgh. Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, structured driving lessons tailored to individual student needs and learning styles.
- Assess student progress regularly and provide constructive feedback to facilitate continuous improvement.
- Prepare students thoroughly for both the practical driving test and the theory test, including hazard perception.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, lesson plans, and scheduling.
- Ensure all lessons comply with DVSA regulations, road safety standards, and company policies.
- Conduct regular safety checks on the instruction vehicle and ensure it is always clean and well-maintained.
- Adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learners, including those with anxiety or special requirements.
- Promote safe and responsible driving habits, emphasizing defensive driving techniques.
- Manage time effectively to ensure punctuality for all lessons and appointments.
- Communicate professionally and clearly with students, parents, and colleagues.
Required Skills
- Valid DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI) licence.
- Demonstrable experience as a driving instructor with a strong pass rate.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport.
- Exceptional patience, empathy, and a calm temperament.
- Thorough knowledge of the Highway Code, DVSA regulations, and road safety best practices.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit individual student needs.
- Full, clean UK driving licence.
- Commitment to continuous professional development.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced driving qualification (e.g., RoSPA Advanced Driver, IAM RoadSmart Advanced Driver).
- Experience with instructing a diverse range of learners, including those with learning difficulties.
- First Aid certification.
- Proficiency in additional languages relevant to the local community.
