As a key member of our shop, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive grooming services to a diverse range of canine and feline clients, ensuring their comfort, safety, and a stunning final look. Key Responsibilities
- Perform full-service grooming procedures including bathing, brushing, de-shedding, nail trims, ear cleaning, and styling for various breeds of dogs and cats.
- Assess pet's coat and skin condition, temperament, and health for appropriate grooming services.
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide professional recommendations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe grooming environment, adhering to strict sanitation and safety protocols.
- Operate and maintain grooming equipment, ensuring proper functionality and cleanliness.
- Handle pets with care, patience, and compassion, recognizing and responding to their stress signals.
- Educate pet owners on at-home grooming and coat maintenance tips.
- Manage appointment schedules and client records accurately.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth operations and exceptional customer service.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2 years of professional pet grooming experience in a salon or shop setting.
- Proficiency in scissoring, clipping, and hand-stripping techniques for various breeds.
- Strong knowledge of different coat types and appropriate grooming products/tools.
- Excellent animal handling skills with a focus on safety and reducing pet stress.
- Ability to identify common skin conditions, parasites, and other health concerns.
- Outstanding customer service and communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a passion for creating beautiful and healthy grooms.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification from a recognized grooming academy or institution.
- Experience with specialty grooming requests or challenging temperaments.
- Basic knowledge of first aid for pets.
- Familiarity with grooming software or scheduling systems.
