Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our General & Ward Service team in Aberdeen, Scotland. Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, high-quality nursing care to patients on the ward, adhering to established protocols and best practices.
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Administer medications safely and accurately, adhering to all professional guidelines and hospital policies.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, symptoms, and progress, escalating any concerns appropriately and promptly.
- Educate patients and their families on health conditions, treatment plans, and self-care practices, promoting patient empowerment.
- Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential patient records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
- Participate actively in ward rounds, clinical meetings, and contribute effectively to care planning decisions.
- Adhere strictly to infection control policies and promote a safe, clean, and therapeutic clinical environment for all.
- Act as a mentor and provide guidance and support to junior nursing staff, healthcare assistants, and student nurses.
- Respond to emergency situations promptly and effectively, demonstrating critical thinking and calm under pressure.
Required Skills
- Valid NMC registration (Parts 1 or 12) for nursing in the UK.
- Demonstrable post-registration experience in general medical/surgical nursing.
- Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
- Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, and other core nursing procedures.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and empathy abilities.
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- A compassionate, patient-focused, and holistic approach to care.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Post-registration qualification or experience in a specialist area (e.g., acute care, palliative care, wound management).
- Familiarity and experience with electronic patient record systems (EPR).
- Evidence of continuous professional development (CPD) and commitment to lifelong learning.
- Leadership or mentorship experience in a clinical setting.
