Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a dedicated and passionate Part-Time Volunteer Manager to lead our vibrant volunteer program in Bridgeland, Calgary. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive volunteer recruitment strategies.
  • Conduct interviews, onboarding, and training sessions for new volunteers.
  • Create and manage volunteer schedules, ensuring adequate coverage for programs and events.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date volunteer records and databases.
  • Foster a positive and supportive volunteer environment through regular communication and recognition.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all volunteer inquiries and concerns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to assess volunteer needs and align efforts with organizational goals.
  • Develop and deliver engaging volunteer appreciation events and initiatives.
  • Monitor volunteer program effectiveness and identify areas for improvement and growth.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and relevant legal requirements related to volunteers.
  • Represent the organization at community outreach events to promote volunteer opportunities.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in volunteer management or community engagement.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and volunteer management software/CRM.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and manage diverse groups of individuals.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach.
  • A deep understanding of community needs and a passion for service.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Non-profit Management, Social Work, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience working within the Bridgeland, Calgary community.
  • Knowledge of best practices in volunteer retention and engagement.
  • Certification in Volunteer Administration (CVA).
  • Experience with database management and reporting.
