Key Responsibilities

  • Present live and pre-recorded television and radio programmes with engaging and professional delivery.
  • Conduct compelling interviews with guests, experts, and community members, extracting insightful information.
  • Research, write, and edit scripts and programme content, ensuring accuracy and adherence to editorial guidelines.
  • Engage actively with audiences through various platforms, including social media, phone-ins, and public events.
  • Operate basic studio equipment for broadcasting, ensuring smooth transitions and technical quality.
  • Collaborate closely with producers, directors, journalists, and technical teams to achieve programme objectives.
  • Contribute creative ideas for programme development, segment concepts, and storytelling approaches.
  • Adhere to broadcast regulations, ethical standards, and company policies at all times.
  • Provide voice-overs and narration for various productions as required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Broadcaster, Presenter, or Journalist in TV or Radio.
  • Exceptional verbal communication and presentation skills, with a clear and articulate voice.
  • Strong interviewing and conversational abilities, with a knack for drawing out compelling stories.
  • Ability to perform live under pressure, adapt to rapidly changing situations, and improvise effectively.
  • Excellent research, writing, and editing skills for broadcast content.
  • A keen understanding of current affairs, local news, and audience interests relevant to Dyce, Aberdeen, and wider Scotland.
  • Proficiency in using broadcast-related software and studio equipment.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and connect with diverse audiences.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A degree or diploma in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, or a related field.
  • Experience with digital content creation and multi-platform broadcasting.
  • Familiarity with specific broadcast automation systems (e.g., Dalet, Myriad).
  • A strong online presence and proven ability to engage with audiences through social media.
  • Bilingual abilities, particularly Scottish Gaelic or other relevant languages.
