Key Responsibilities
- Create high-quality 2D and 3D animations for characters, props, environments, and special effects.
- Translate storyboards, scripts, and concepts into compelling animated sequences that align with project vision.
- Collaborate effectively with art directors, modelers, riggers, and other team members to maintain artistic consistency and technical standards.
- Develop keyframe animation, motion capture cleanup, and make necessary adjustments to rigging for optimal performance.
- Ensure all animations meet technical specifications, project deadlines, and quality benchmarks.
- Actively participate in feedback sessions, iterating and refining animations based on constructive criticism.
- Maintain a strong understanding and application of core animation principles such as timing, spacing, anticipation, and squash and stretch.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of animation pipelines, workflows, and tools.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation software (e.g., Autodesk Maya, 3ds Max, Blender).
- Strong understanding and experience with 2D animation techniques and software (e.g., Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate, After Effects).
- A compelling online portfolio or showreel demonstrating strong 2D and 3D animation skills across various styles.
- Excellent grasp of animation principles, anatomy, kinetics, and realistic/stylized character movement.
- Proven ability to animate realistic and stylized characters, objects, and environmental elements.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Digital Media, or a closely related field.
- Experience with motion capture data integration, editing, and cleanup.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, MEL) for animation tool development or workflow enhancement.
- Knowledge of game engines (e.g., Unity, Unreal Engine) and real-time rendering pipelines.
- Prior experience in VFX animation or complex motion graphics projects.
