Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert legal advice and strategic guidance on Canadian immigration matters.
  • Prepare, review, and submit a wide range of immigration applications (e.g., permanent residency, temporary resident visas, work permits, study permits, spousal sponsorships, Express Entry).
  • Conduct thorough client consultations to assess eligibility, identify potential challenges, and develop tailored immigration strategies.
  • Represent clients before Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), the Immigration and Refugee Board (IRB), and other relevant government agencies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of evolving immigration laws, policies, and procedures.
  • Manage client files efficiently, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality, and timely communication.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to enhance service delivery and client outcomes.
  • Assist in business development activities and contribute to the firm's thought leadership.

Required Skills

  • Licensed as a Regulated Canadian Immigration Consultant (RCIC) in good standing with the College of Immigration and Citizenship Consultants (CICC).
  • Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) or Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, or an equivalent legal qualification.
  • Minimum 3 years of direct experience as an Immigration Consultant in a legal or consulting environment.
  • Profound knowledge of Canadian immigration law, regulations, and policies.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Proficiency in case management software and standard office applications.
  • Strong client-service orientation with an empathetic and professional demeanor.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in a second language (e.g., French, Mandarin, Punjabi, Spanish) relevant to Calgary's diverse population.
  • Experience with complex immigration cases, appeals, and litigation.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff or contribute to team training.
  • Existing professional network within the immigration legal community.
  • Experience with a variety of immigration streams, including economic, family, and refugee classes.
