Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking a passionate, discerning, and driven A&R Representative to join our burgeoning team, operating from our Banchory hub. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with an innate ability to identify raw musical talent, understand market trends, and foster artist development from the ground up. As an A&R Representative, you will be at the forefront of our scouting efforts, actively seeking out and evaluating potential artists across various genres, both locally within Scotland and extending across the wider UK music scene. Your mission will be to discover and champion the voices and sounds that will define tomorrow’s musical landscape.
Your days will be incredibly diverse and dynamic, encompassing everything from attending electrifying live performances at local venues and festivals, meticulously reviewing countless demos and digital submissions, to strategically networking with key industry professionals, producers, and managers. You’ll be tasked with identifying artists who possess not only exceptional musical ability and unique artistry but also strong commercial potential and a compelling narrative that captivates audiences. Key Responsibilities
- Scout, identify, and evaluate emerging musical talent across various genres.
- Attend live performances, showcases, and industry events to discover new artists.
- Review demos, digital submissions, and online artist profiles comprehensively.
- Assess artistic potential, commercial viability, and market appeal of prospective artists.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with artists, managers, producers, and other industry contacts.
- Provide constructive creative direction and feedback to artists regarding their sound, image, and career trajectory.
- Facilitate artist development by connecting talent with appropriate producers, songwriters, and collaborators.
- Monitor industry trends, competitor activities, and changes in music consumption patterns.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations on potential signings and their projected success.
- Assist in the negotiation of artist contracts and recording deals, working closely with legal teams.

- Demonstrated track record of successfully identifying and nurturing talent.
- Ability to travel frequently for scouting, meetings, and industry events, both locally and nationally.
