Job Description
Hiring.zycto is seeking highly motivated and professional Security Guards to join our dedicated team in Bieldside, Aberdeen. This critical role involves providing comprehensive day and night shift coverage, ensuring the safety and security of our premises, assets, and personnel. As a Security Guard, you will be a visible deterrent against unauthorized activities, responding promptly to incidents, and maintaining a secure environment around the clock. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both internal and external, checking for unauthorized persons, hazards, and suspicious activities.
- Monitor CCTV systems and alarms, responding promptly to activations and escalating incidents as necessary.
- Control access to premises, verifying identities, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs.
- Enforce company policies and procedures, including health and safety regulations.
- Respond to emergencies such as fires, medical incidents, and security breaches, taking appropriate action and coordinating with emergency services.
- Write detailed and accurate incident reports, daily activity logs, and observations.
- Provide a visible security presence, acting as a deterrent to crime and unauthorized access.
- Assist visitors and staff with inquiries, providing directions and maintaining a helpful, professional demeanor.
- Conduct routine checks on gates, doors, windows, and security equipment to ensure they are fully functional.
- Undertake searches (personnel, vehicles, bags) as per company policy and legal requirements.
- Perform first aid and fire warden duties if certified and required.
Required Skills
- Excellent observation and surveillance skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure.
- Proficiency in incident reporting and record-keeping.
- Basic computer literacy for monitoring systems and reports.
- Physical fitness to perform duties including prolonged standing, walking, and occasional lifting.
- Team player with a strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Knowledge of health and safety procedures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Door Supervisor or Security Guarding License.
- Previous experience in a security role (corporate, retail, or public sector).
- First Aid at Work certification.
- CCTV Operator License.
- Full UK Driving License.
