As a Network Engineer at Hiring.zycto, you will be exposed to a diverse array of technologies and challenges. Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN, WAN, and wireless network infrastructure components (routers, switches, access points).
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network security systems including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), VPNs, and intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- Perform proactive network monitoring, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal network health and availability.
- Diagnose and resolve complex network connectivity and performance issues, acting as a point of escalation for critical incidents.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to provide out-of-hours support for critical network incidents.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams (e.g., server, application, security) and external vendors to deliver integrated solutions.
- Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, security, and scalability.
- Manage IP addressing schemes, DNS, and DHCP services.
- Ensure compliance with security policies and regulatory requirements relevant to network operations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience with enterprise-level routing and switching protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, VLANs).
- Hands-on experience configuring and managing network hardware from vendors such as Cisco, Juniper, or HP Aruba.
- Proficiency in administering and troubleshooting next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) and VPN solutions.
- Strong understanding of network security principles, best practices, and common attack vectors.
- Experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to troubleshooting.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Command-line interface (CLI) expertise for network device configuration and diagnostics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant industry certifications (e.g., Cisco CCNP, Juniper JNCIP, CompTIA Network+, Fortinet NSE, Palo Alto PCNSA/PCNSE).
- Experience with cloud networking platforms (e.g., AWS VPC, Azure VNet, Google Cloud Network).
- Familiarity with network automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python, Ansible, Terraform).
- Knowledge of SD-WAN technologies and their implementation.
- Understanding of ITSM frameworks (e.g., ITIL Foundation).
- Experience with load balancing technologies (e.g., F5, HAProxy).
