Job Description

Hiring.zycto is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Automotive Service Advisor to join our thriving team in Oliver, Edmonton. As a Service Advisor, you will be the primary point of contact for our valued clients, serving as the crucial link between vehicle owners and our expert service technicians. Your role is pivotal in ensuring a seamless and positive experience for every customer who walks through our doors or calls us for assistance. We are looking for an individual who is passionate about automotive care, possesses exceptional communication skills, and has a natural ability to build rapport and trust.

In this role, you will be responsible for greeting customers, actively listening to their vehicle concerns, and accurately documenting their service requests. You will interpret diagnostic information from technicians, explain complex mechanical issues in an understandable manner, and present service recommendations and estimates with transparency and professionalism. A key aspect of your work will involve advising customers on necessary maintenance, potential repairs, and preventative measures to ensure their vehicle’s longevity and performance. You’ll manage service appointments, monitor the progress of repairs, and keep customers informed every step of the way, from initial check-in to final vehicle delivery. Strong organizational skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential for success. Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers promptly and courteously, initiating the service process with professionalism.
  • Actively listen to customer concerns regarding their vehicle's performance or issues, accurately documenting all information.
  • Conduct vehicle walk-arounds and perform initial inspections to identify potential service needs.
  • Translate customer concerns and observations into precise repair orders for technicians.
  • Interpret diagnostic findings and technical recommendations from service technicians to customers.
  • Prepare and present detailed service estimates, explaining costs, timelines, and benefits of recommended repairs/maintenance.
  • Obtain customer authorization for all work performed, ensuring clear understanding and agreement.
  • Monitor the status of vehicle repairs, providing regular updates to customers on progress and estimated completion times.
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any concerns or complaints efficiently and effectively.
  • Coordinate with parts departments to ensure timely availability of necessary components.
  • Process payments and finalize repair orders, explaining invoices and warranty information.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and encourage repeat business through exceptional service.
  • Adhere to all company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.

Required Skills

  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Proven ability to explain technical information clearly and understandably to non-technical individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (3+ years) as a Service Advisor in an automotive dealership or independent repair facility.
  • Automotive technical certification (e.g., Red Seal endorsement) or relevant post-secondary education.
  • Familiarity with warranty processes and claims procedures.
  • Experience with specific dealership management systems (DMS) like Reynolds and Reynolds, CDK Global, or Dealertrack.
  • Bilingualism (English and other relevant languages for the local market).
