Key Responsibilities
- Perform full frame-off and partial restorations on a wide range of classic and vintage automobiles.
- Meticulously dismantle vehicles, cataloging all components, and assess damage or wear to parts.
- Execute bodywork, metal fabrication, welding (MIG/TIG), and panel alignment with high precision.
- Conduct paint preparation, including sanding, priming, and masking, ensuring flawless surfaces.
- Troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical systems, including engines, transmissions, suspensions, and braking systems.
- Restore or replace interior components such as upholstery, dashboards, and trim.
- Perform electrical diagnosis, repair, and re-wiring specific to vintage automotive systems.
- Collaborate with team members, designers, and clients to ensure project specifications are met or exceeded.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Required Skills
- Minimum 4 years of proven experience in classic car restoration or a related highly skilled automotive field.
- Expertise in metal fabrication, welding (MIG/TIG), and bodywork techniques.
- Strong understanding of vintage automotive mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
- Proficiency with a variety of hand and power tools specific to restoration.
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and service literature.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving record.
Preferred Qualifications
- Apprenticeship or trade certification in Automotive Service Technician, Auto Body, or Restoration.
- Experience with specific classic car marques or periods (e.g., American Muscle, European Sports Cars, Pre-War vehicles).
- Familiarity with various painting systems and finishing processes.
